if u couldnt tell that was sarcasm

You didn't really give any useful information, or indication of what you're looking for or the sound you're trying to achieve.

Other than an over-exagerated hint at a budget in the title.

I think most pedals are made of metal...

5000?

I won't even spend 50. Holy shit. If someone would be willing to spend 5000 on a pedal they'd better have an amp that costs more than a new sportscar.

I know it's just a figure of speech, but damn. If I heard an effect that made me think "I'd pay $5000 for that," it probably comes with a personal Scarlett Johanson sex slave.

the first time i heard "throw away your television" by rhcp, the effect frusciante throws on his guitar BLEW my mind. i paid nothing and asked for the $200 effect for a birthday or christmas present. its the line6 fm4. it's sweet, it's got a lot of different filter modulators and it's really controllable.

btw, the effect on that song is a seek wah - basically a wah pedal set at different points in the sweep and played in a particular order at a particular speed. tom morello uses it some and its starting to gain some popularity...

You must have a good used market where you live, I can't find any pedals that aren't broken for under $50 (that are worthwhile) here.

What was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my $5000 rack delay unit running through my Dumble.

I'm a guitar -> amp guy. I wouldn't pay $50 'cause I just don't buy pedals.

I hear good things about the TC Electronic G-System, but it's not £5000.

We're just messing with you.

I'm not much of an effects man anyway. A touch of reverb/delay for solos, maybe an EQ in the loop, OD in front, that's it.

Could you actually articulate properly what the point of this thread is? Are you actually looking for a specific effect or what? What do you want it to do?

K, widely celebrated pedals that are hella expensive:

Klon Centaur Gold, RockBox Boiling Point , Keeler Stretch wah, etc.

I like sticking with the basics - reverb, slight delay maybe. I do like a bit of phaser sometimes too for that "ain't talkin' bout love' sound!

Well, you already used a metal pedal, maybe try a jazz pedal or a hiphop pedal.
I'd go for a wooden or plastic one first tbh.

He should totally make a board with a metal pedal, a cheap Behringer and one of those wooden stomp percussion pedals
That would be epic.

Also "cheap Behringer" is an oxymoron.

I would only spend that much on a pedal made of several ounces of solid gold that could perfectly replicate a Dumble, a Matchless, and a Marshall Plexi at any volume.

The gold could be used in the wiring. Would help with noise issues.

Yup, this too.

And the jacks, knobs, and switches also have to be Rhodium plated, with jewels illuminated by the LEDs. And the feet would be made out of the rarest rubber available.

I'd have the chassis made from tungsten, tbh. Or maybe diamond, the see-through would be pretty cool. Also, it should have a touchscreen, voice-control and a Megan Fox voice that tells you you're such an awesome guitar player when you bust out your chops.

I dunno. Having an electronic woman complement your playing? I dunno, it's hard to take that seriously.

I would rather have Patrick Stewart complement my playing. He'd be all "You're Number 1".

Yeah but there are also EHX ripoff Behringers that are metal, so I said cheap but I actually meant those crappy plastic ones

I think I'd rather have a hot chick's voice than some old guy's voice compliment my playing.
