Quick question:

How does Audacity recognise that a microphone input is being plugged in if it is going through the USB instead of through the mic input (and then soundcard)? Do you need software to allow it to recognise where the input can be found?

Thanks for your help!

It's been a while since I used Audacity, but I used to use the Rock Band 2 USB mic with it, and once the driver finished installing I don't recall needing to mess with a whole lot of settings within the program, it was just a matter of making sure I had the mic selected as my input device.

I use a Blue Yeti with Audacity. You just have to set it as your standard microphone on your computer (configuration-->sound--> whatever is related to mic/recording/...). Depends on the mic I guess, what mic is it?
