Hey guys, recently got my new Rode NT1A. I'm having some trouble using it though. I recently got Cubase 5, but for some reason, when I plug my microphone into my Focusrite Sapphire 6 and hit the phantom power, all I get is a screeching sound coming through my monitors. Its not a painfully loud one, but for some reason my microphone is being recognised by Cubase, even when I try playing around with the device inputs and outputs through Cubase.

Any help to resolve this problem would be much appreciated

EDIT: Even if I plug it into my interface and switch on the phantom power, without Cubase being open the buzzing/staticy screech is still there.

It's called feedback. Turn the mic down or use headphones.

My initial thoughts, but I don't think it is, even with low/zero gain it does it. It show that a signal is being picked up, but when I hit record nothing gets recorded. God this is annoying.
