Ok I have been on here a bunch trying to find what I need so instead of looking I'm gonna ask.
I need a new amp.
Looking at the VOX AC30VR---I'm sick of this amp modeling crap
I want an amp that is just that and I would throw pedals in front of it. ANy suggestions on other amps.

Clapton..Coheed..Three Days Grace...SRV...Avenged Sevendfold..Danzig...most modern rock. I don't jump to much into metal unless I feel like it. Classic Rock..Alt Rock. Stuff like that.

The Vox most likely won't have enough gain for Coheed/TDG/A7X type stuff, but it would excel at Clapton/SRV stuff.

Were you planning on getting a distortion pedal for harder stuff, or did you want your amp to be able to do that?

I know the vox won't have the gain i need for the coheed and such.. I was looking at the joe satriani pedals and some of the other distortion/overdrive pedals. I want to build up a pedal board with delay, wah and all of those. It sounds really nice!

Why not look into Orange? They've got good cleans and great overdrive for most of their models, I'm sure you could find something in your price range.

And the Satchurator is a pretty good boost pedal, if you like the sound of it then go for it.

I'm not very good with suggestions on good distortion pedals. The best one I'm familiar with that's out right now is the Hardwire Metal Distortion, but that might be geared to more gain than you're looking for.

I'll get bashed for this (and I don't care), but I recently picked up a Boss OS-2 that's a really cool pedal - it lets you dial in an SD-1 overdrive or a DS-1 distortion, or blend anywhere in between the two, and it has drive and tone knobs as well.

i don't mind the boss pedals. I didn't even begin to look for them really until I can find an amp that I don't want to throw out the window
