I'm going to a show tonight, and I really want to bring my camera and get some photos of it. I was wondering if you guys had any experience on this matter? It's a big show (about 5500ish people), and it will be pretty heavy. My shorts have a zip pocket, the camera has a wrist strap, and when i'm not using it I plan on having my hand over the pocket the whole time.
So are there any tips, views or experience on this? Is it a bad idea?

Edit: I'm going to be with mates who are taking their phones, and I'm not taking mine as I won't need to be using it. I would take it for photos but its about the same size as my camera, but the camera has 10 megapixels (even though it was pretty cheap..)

I don't see why it's any different to taking your phone.

Maybe put padding in your pocket, to keep it from getting smashed up?

Whenever I used to take my phone to shows, I'd wrap a hand towel around it in my pocket to at very least keep it from getting wet via sweat.

How cheap is cheap? Cheap enough that it won't be too big of an issue to have to buy a new one if it gets broken or stolen? If you're worried about having to buy a new one, don't take it.

Though most phones contain cameras.
So it's like bringing part of a phone.

My cousin took a video camera Up a rollercoaster, I think it can survive the pit.

Take the camera and take pictures.

Take it, be very careful with it though.
And for the love of god, don't be one of those people who stands at the front watching the whole show through a 3 inch screen on their camera.
