http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Chad-Kroeger-Blackwater-Les-Paul.aspx

Saw this from an email Gibson sent me. If there was ever a Les Paul with the worst resale value, this would be it. I can't imagine anyone spending thousands for a signature guitar from a guy that plays in Nickelback. Maybe you can get these for about 800 bucks later on and you can strip it and make it your own Les Paul.

Maybe if it was a different color. I guess there's comments now on that article (there wasn't a comment section when I read it). The Justin Bieber Explorer comment made me laugh.

im no nickelback fan but i think the guitar looks pretty good.

if it had his name or whatever written on the headstock then that would be another matter.
if you had one no one would know it was a chad kroeger signature, just a good looking les paul.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

That's what I was thinking. Just replace the truss rod cover and it's kickass.

Its a gorgeous guitar. Saw the email and rolled my eyes until I saw the beauty. Its one classy looking guitar. And the Piezo is a pretty good feature too.

That's not that bad. I thought it was just a Les Paul Standard with his name on it at first (and make no mistake, it's not far off from one...), but it's got some oddities. It's got a piezo. 3 volumes, one master tone? I guess... either 1 volume for each pickup, including the piezo, or one for each normal pickup and a master volume for the two of them.

It's not anything special but it's not like it's the silliest thing we've ever seen called a signature guitar.

Is there a new Joan Jett Gibson or are you talking about the one that's been out? The shape of that guitar is just soo weird. It looks like a 9th grader made it in woodshop class.

For 4k, I'd rather get a late 60's SG Standard. I don't like new Gibsons and their sticky necks. In my opinion, the new Gibsons made today feels and almost sounds the same as the Epiphone made today (occasionally, I'll find one that plays and sounds amazing) . I do like the V.O.S series though and the custom shop ones are alright...it's just ridiculous how much they cost. The newest Gibson I own is like 12 years old and has a nice worn in neck already...not to mention a lot cheaper than what they cost today.

Her new Blackheart Melody Maker. Made as a tie-in for the movie that came out earlier this year. You make Burger King toys for movies, not $900 guitars.
