My school has this singing contest for the first time.
And I sing, obviously, otherwise I wouldn't be posting this thread.

Anyway, for the portion of The Pit that listens to music with more vocals than screaming.
What do you think are some songs that are really strong vocally?
I'm not exactly sure which song to choose yet, so help would be appreciated.

Any GENERAL questions will be edited into the OP when asked.

EDIT:

I don't need to get girls to like me, i have a girlfriend.
And not to sound like a concited douche but from singing at my school talent show, girls were already ready to drop their panties.
This is an actual contest, and i need legit songs.

Well the obvious choice would be Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden. IMO one of his best songs would be Aces High. That guy's got a great voice, even though lots of people find it annoying, you can't deny that he's talented.

You'll get so many girls that you'll go gay....not sure if this is what you want, but do it anyway.

I never understood how people could find it annoying, but I am obviously a fan. Aces High might be a bit of a stretch though, but a lot of his singing could be I suppose depending on your range, I know I couldn't touch any of it. I sound like Johnny Cash

edit: How can anyone find this voice annoying? /fanboy

Sing His Silent Film from Lower Definition.

You'll win at life.

Or sing Deuces by Chris Brown since its new, and youll probably get mad pussy after the show is done.

M. Shadows of A7X does some great vocal work (when he's not screaming, of course). Try anything off of Nightmare, they have pretty intense vocals.

Alice In Chains - Nutshell

Its from an unplugged concert. IMO, its Layne's best vocal performance ever. The video just mezmorizes me.

By the way guys, metal probably isn't the best genre to be suggesting for a school function. Even if it isn't screaming. Its just not appealing to enough people to be effective with that audience.

sing Big Balls by acdc

Hell yes. Haven't listened to that song since I was 12, but hell yes nonetheless.

Now seriously, while vocals tend to not be my thing, I do know of a contemporary vocalist by the name of Milton Suggs who I believe is rather talented.

And I have to mention the timeless Chet Baker

Michael Buble is good.
He's like modern day Sinatra, to me anyway.
If you don't like his music, that's your opinion.
I have mine.
