Yeah I have the same problem, I just leave those untuned and avoid playing them. Works really well!

I feel that way every time I put new strings on my guitar. Get over it, ignore the pinging noises, and tune up.

does it have one of those wammy bridges?
if it does you need to balance it if its a sold bridge then you probably gat ticker strings

No just stop being a pussy and tune them =P
Also, why are you getting someone else to put new strings on? Just do it yourself!

lol...
I had a friend at school who was learning guitar, and he said he was having troubles tunning it so I told him to bring it in to school and ill take a look at it and set it up and what not, so I take it home, and hes got the strings tuned way up, I think he managed to get several of them up like 7 frets, A was E and some of the others were at like 5 frets up, except the high E it was way low.

I couldn't believe none of the strings broke... It was unfathomable to me...

Edit:

On topic more so...
Where are the strings breaking?
Theres a chance you have a bur or something on one of the bridge saddles which could cause a string to break, It could be a bur at the tunning pegs... cheap strings or just a bad set could be a possible problem... also the gauge of strings could be a problem (depending on tuning), if they are to large they would have an increased tension compared to standard gauge and they may not be able to handle it.
