I'm looking at buying a new bass, a Schecter Stiletto Studio-4 specifically. It has an active EQ but passive EMG-Hz pick-ups. My last bass was an Omen-5 with active pick-ups, I've grown quite irritated with the constant hassle of buying and putting in new batteries so I want to stray away from that. So, my question is: does an "active EQ" use batteries like active pick-ups do?

yes an active eq does use batteries
but you shouldnt have to buy so many batteries if you unplugg it after you play
i think you can still use it without batteries since the pick ups are passive
