I was wondeirng what kind of scales compose this kind of music, as i feel like writing some myself, here are some examples . These are mexican corridos (kind of like mexican equivalent of gangsta rap, only better).

Just seem to be the major scale with occasional chromatic passing tones. Harmonically repeating between tonic and dominant, sometimes going to subdominant before dominant.

...modes and scales are still useless.
