A Nightmare at Elm Street (It's not that bad really, I liked it)
Get him to the Greek (Meh)
Knight and Day (Nice flick)
Machete (Awesome)
Undisputed III Redemption (Best fight movie ever)
Predators (Awesome)

(All of the above are 2010)

Here's an old but really good one

Alpha Dog (2006)
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.

Check out the film thread my friend. I won't hold it against you that you didn't know it exists since it's kind of slow, just future reference.

Anyway:
Godfather 1 & 2 obviously
Watchmen
Die Hard
2001: A Space Odyssey
Clerks
Dr. Strangelove
Goodfellas
Shutter Island
Taxi Driver
A Clockwork Orange
Fight Club
Untouchables
Scarface

Those are the ones that immediately popped into my head.

Why in god's name would you recommend the pile of mediocrity and boringness that is The Road?

Holy Christ, don't.

All the good movies I watched recently:
Office Space
Revolver
Boys Don't Cry
Girl, Interrupted
The Evil Dead Trilogy
The Terminal
The Green Mile
The Front
Silver Streak
Snatch
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
As Good as it Gets
In the Loop
The Men Who Stare at Goats
Wristcutters: A Love Story
Leon

Sorry, no loli (except, sorta in Leon).
The UG Awards exist only to instill me with existential doubt.

For me, the 60's ended that day in 1978...

Blue Velvet, Miller's Crossing, Blues Brothers, Once Upon A Time In The West, Kikujiro, City of God. Those are my favourite films of the top of my head. You should watch them.
#32
Something recent? Birth of a Nation is pretty good.

Also, The Room and Birdemic: Shock and Terror.
I'm rgrockr and I do not approve of this message.
#33
The Experiment <- bit of a psychological thriller I suppose
Zodiac <- serial killer thriller
The Expendables <- best action movie I've seen in a long time
Gangs of New York <- now in my top 5
Grindhouse (might be found separately as Death Proof and Planet Terror) <- B movie style horror/exploitation film, much better than I expected

All movies of this decade I've seen recently and recommend.
Warning: The above post may contain lethal levels of radiation, sharp objects and sexiness.

I just watched World's Greatest Dad with Robin Williams a few nights ago with my friends. You have to have a somewhat twisted sense of humor to like it, but imo it's one of the best dark comedies I've seen in years. Plus it only came out a year ago.

@whoever mentioned Human Centipede - my friend showed me the trailer for that last week. That, and Teeth, are probably the weirdest movie premises I've ever heard of. I mean, who thinks of basing a movie around doing this?

American Psycho
Black Dynamite
Requiem for a Dream
District 9
The Hurt Locker
Inception
The Other Guys

Those are just some favorites I can think of that are fairly recent. 2010 has sucked IMO though for movies, except those last two.
Dead soldier! Go now to Valhalla!
