but then again my life would be sooooo boring..
I just need a new inspiration and then everything will be ok

Never. Even if my life goes down the shitter, I'll be a bum in the alley playin' my guitar for passers by.

one of the reasons i ask is because today i sold two of my amps and two of my guitars today and now have 500 dollars and that made me think....for some reason.

I swim 6 times a week and I still play guitar, not as much as before, though.

I have a strong urge to give it up completely I feel like no matter how hard I try, I'll never get better and that just destroys and motivation I have.

I seriously considered giving it up a few months ago. I had another hobby at the same time, and I could only afford to keep one on, so I had to decide which to give up. Kept music because I enjoyed it more, and it could be the more useful of the two.

I had something sorta like this happen. I was playing guitar/mandolin quite frequently (hence why I am on these forums). But then, about midway through my freshman year, I realized I could no longer keep them up, as any free time was absorbed in a minimum of healthy socializing and/or practicing piano (which is my major).

So, I had to do the same thing, except that mine involved giving up one instrument in order to fully pursue another.
#26
No, I just walk away for a bit and then come back playing better than ever.

Sometimes ya just need a break
#27
Yeah, a few times, but I don't have anything better to do, so I just keep doing it.

I've thought about giving up guitar and focusing on bass many times but I never do it.

Also when did Deliriumbassist become yellow again?

I don't think you can really "give up". Well, I can't anyway

I can go weeks, nay, months without playing, then just play further down the line when I feel like it

I wouldn't ever consciously go, "that's it. I retire"
#32
I don't play as often as i should do but couldn't give up, really. I'm just getting a little bored of playing on my own. I have a lot of guitarists buddies, but they're all into music I'm not. I wouldn't mind playing their stuff though, it's just i don't know how to do it if you get me.
