What are the diffrences between the two because right now i own an epiphone and am debating upgrading but only if its worth it.

The Gibson will generally play better & stay in tune better. (and have craftmanship/parts)

The tone is real close... but i'd still consider the Gibson an upgrade.

But get at least a "standard".... not a special or studio model. Those are decent but subpar... and similar to the epiphone. (not much of an upgrade)

I find the Epi is a little heavier and has a slightly darker (perhaps muddier) sound. Gibsons usually come with a better stock set-up, too, but I had a pro work on my Epiphone and now it plays better than any Gibson I can find.
