ok so some friends where over and one decided to play my les paul on the other side of the room.and he managed to drop it and step on the neck snapping in half, when i say snapped i mean in two pices no chance on fixing it.anyone know where i could buy a bolt on neck for a relatively low price.

right now i wouldnt care if it was a eppiphone neck if it was cheep for now anyway

Les Pauls are through necks. You can't get a bolt on for it.

You, dear sir, are out a guitar.

I'd make your friend buy you a new guitar.

Dropping it was bad enough, but then he somehow managed to take it even further and step on the neck.

WTF.

I hope it wasn't a gibson. But I'm pretty sure it was. Make your friend buy you a new one. If he won't then trash his house/car or sleep with his wife/gf. You know you better just do all of that. In that order. And then beat him up. That's what I'd do

Actually, a skilled luthier could repair that guitar. If it is a Gibson, the cost would be justified. If if is an Epi, you could buy a new one for what it would cost.

Many early Gibsons were made without a volute. The volute is that little raised area opposite the nut. Several pre-volute Gibsons can be found with broken and repaired necks. The repair will actually be stronger than the rest of the neck.

Either way, I do think your friend owes you big time.

If the OP is looking for a bolt-on neck, I'd hazard a guess the guitar was an Epi LP Special. Not worth fixing as you could buy a new one for the repair costs.
The volute was only on some Norlin era LPs and reinforced the headtsock to neck joint area. It would do nothing for the neck itelf.
Moving on.....

you can get it fixed. how good the fix is is going to depend on how much you want to spend. not worth it for an epi immo.

You can't expect much serious help without telling us what guitar it was. "les paul" is ridiculously vague.

I guess fire extinguishers have to be filled with something other than fire retardant now, because apparently that's offensive.
