idk if this is the right spot...but does anyone know of a good set of durable cheap noise canceling headphones?

Whatever you gonna use, it's always better, unless you just wanna listen to music, to buy lots of cheap shitty ones, cause they gonna break anyway.
I suggest the Senn HD280 Pro. they dont cancel in an active way but isolate with their closed design.

For a smaller set of headphones, I suggest going with IEMs such as the Shure SE115 (these replaced the Shure SCL2 set that I own and use)

The large active systems like the Bose units not only are expensive, but they color the sound a lot with bass. Other units lower in price will not work well at all.
