Anyone know some good compilation of scales and their positions, not sure if this is the right forum but hope someone can help me anyway

Umm.. 1 fret is a half step, 2 is a wholestep. Start at any given spot and build a major scale- Start-whole-whole-half-whole-whole-whole-half-and back to same note as start but octave higher. Take this repeating pattern and start at a diff place to play in a diff mode. For instance, make your start (or root) the 6th note of the major pattern above. You now have a minor scale. Mixolydian, dorian, and a bunch of other ians follow this pattern too, but start at a diff place.

What are you going to use them for? And how well do you know and understand what keys and chords they best fall under?
