im looking into buying a guitar to usb cable to do some home recording. the software i have is CoolEdit Pro 2.0. Right now im looking at 3 possible(affordable) cables:

Behringer UCG 102 (http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-Guitar-Link-UCG102-USB-Interface?sku=241228)
Alesis GuitarLink AudioLink Series (http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Alesis-GuitarLink-USB-Audio-Interface-Cable?sku=703593)
Hosa Guitar Cable(http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=hosa+1/4+guitar+cable&hl=en&cid=11668306216188569481&ei=jjSmTN2rGJ_mygWNkqmUBA&sa=title&ved=0CBUQ8wIwATgA#p)

i just really need something that'll get the job done but wont sound like total crap.
let me know what you guys think.

thx

Unfortunately any of those is likely to sound like shite
You're not going to get anything worthwhile for under $100 so save the money and get one of the Line 6 interfaces like the GX or UX1, or an M-Audio Fast Track, they're actually useable and with a bit of know how and tweaking, you can get some very good results from them
Look at the top three recordings or the video on my profile, I use the M-audio Fast Track for those and lately I've been getting even better quality with each new recording
ohai little sig.
