Truly sorry if this is the wrong place.

Anyways, recently I've gotten guitar lessons so I've been practicing what I learn from those more than I learn songs. So I haven't learned any new songs in a while and I'm craving to learn some.

What I'd like for you to recommend: Jazz or metal. I'm very new to jazz but I'm trying to broaden my musical taste/playstyle. Metal is what I play normally and as far as songs go, just nothing with too much sweeping. A bit of sweeping I'm fine with as I need to get better, but nothing where it's a shred-fest.

As for tunings, please nothing under Drop C.

Thanks

jazz. it opens more doors and gets more respect from the wider world
Belief is a beautiful armour but makes for the heaviest sword.

I'd learn some Jazz. Why? Cuz when you go back to Metal (like me), you'll be armed with all that Jazz knowledge and be able to write/play much more musically complex pieces.

My guitar teacher told me to practice jazz because it is more complicated and forces you to improvise. Once you know jazz, everything else is easy.

I'm not sure the purpose of this thread was understood.

I was looking for song recommendations, not genre.
