I approve of this thread! Great stuff even though I didn't contribute to it like I should have. Great to see some amazing bands up there listed as the "best of". *Cough* Solstice *Cough*

I'm looking for for some Gorerotted like deathgrind but then without the occasional high-pitched yelling and screaming. Just deep guttural grunts would be ace

Yes, its its own kind of metal, but its still metal.

I'm in the mood for some romantic Black Metal. Anything like Greek variants: Septic Flesh, Necromantia, Varathron, etc.

Similarly, melodic variants like The Other Side (The Abyss) and Ugra-Karma.

Try

Algaion - Oimai Algeiou
Argentum - Ad Interitum Funebrarum

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

Early Gorgoroth? If you haven't heard them, ur r prolly a xtian.

I second Legion of Doom, and I recommend trying Setherial - Nord...

Are you talking about those weird sphincter-spasms where it feels like there's a ghost dick in your ass for a little while and then it just disappears?

I've heard Antichrist. Decided to return to it based on your mentioning of them, and am (for the second time) pleasantly surprised. Certainly maintains its allure throughout. I'll get Pentagram, then. I recall hearing it years ago and thinking that it was something I could possibly get into. Unfortunately I got into self-indulgent prog before that endeavor could be pursued in depth.

Nord didn't catch my attention when I tried them a couple of months ago. I'll give it another go.

The only album of note that comes to mind was Profanatica's latest.

Knew that'd be an immediate suggestion. It's already on my list but I think I heard a song or two when it came out and didn't particularly enjoy it. Will still have another go

Be as obvious as you want but if anyone mentions Lantlos I'll punch them right in the aura

Weapon - From the Devil's Tomb
Bastard Priest - Under the Hammer of Destruction

All for you Duncan.
