Hey guys, I haven't been here in ages and lost touch with the metal world for about two years now. Sooooooo, I need you guys to get me up to date. I would like to know any bands worthy of my attention (in any genre) that released a debut album post-2008. This means no bands that were around before 2008 or so. Anything good?

Thanks!

Absolutely none.

Maybe check out Mutant, pretty good thrash, should be right up your alley.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

AFFIRMATIVE.

Also, try these:

Assaulter - Salvation Like Destruction (black/thrash)
Lord Vicar - Fear No Pain (doom with the former Rev Biz guitarist)
Trench Hell - Southern Cross Ripper (rocking thrash with Tom Warrior on vocals)
Excoriate - On Pestilent Winds... (death)
Destruktor - Nailed (black/death/thrash)
Shrinebuilder - s/t (stoner/doom)
Jex Thoth - Totem, s/t (occult doom fits best)
Tribulation - The Horror (death)
Vektor - Black Future (sci-fi prog thrash)
Bastard Priest - Under the Hammer of Destruction (punky death)
Kerasphorus - Cloven Hooves at the Holocaust Dawn EP (chaotic black/death - Pete Helmkamp's most recent project, if that rings a bell)
Ramesses - Take the Curse (stoner/doom)

Also, Black Masses by Electric Wizard and Destroyers of the Faith by Procession (doom) were two phenomenal releases by bands that have been around a bit longer. Then there's also Beherit - Engram, which some claim is rather good.
If I took this cigarette and put it out on you...

...would you love me?

Remember you being one of the few power metal fans back in the day. Here's some newer doom debuts:

Procession - Destroyers of the Faith
Briton Rites - Briton Rites
Apostle Of Solitude - Sincerest Misery
The Wounded Kings - Embrace of the Narrow House
Wheel - Wheel
Lord Vicar - Fear No Pain
Argus - Argus

Also, this band was around before 2008, but this album is essential: Atlantean Kodex - The Golden Bough

I... I should return to Arkham.

I have come home to Arkham.

Dio's dead (he decided Satan was doing a shitty job), Atheist is back together and the new album is shit, new Autopsy, new Asphyx, Gorguts is back (read: Luc Lemay is writing again), Repulsion is back together, Necrophagist STILL hasn't released a new album.

Om - God is Good

That is all.

Seconding this, especially the Atlantean Kodex one, possibly the best metal album ever released.

I'd also like to add While Heaven Wept - Vast Ocean Lachrymose. Brilliant epic heavy metal with lots of melody.

These don't sound like very good ambitions when driving...Judas Priest makes people want to go 200 mph, and Realm of Chaos is now an album for ramming shit. You are dangerous, dangerous people.
