I need a lead guitarist, bassist, drummer, (keyboard player and vocalist depending on what kind of metal). I'm open for all kinds of metal, I'm really into progressive metal, thrash metal, and power metal. However I'd be willing to play in any other genre of metal. If you want to try for a position, upload an mp3 to your profile of your skills and recording quality. I will be the rhythm guitarist and producer.

Lead Guitar -

Rhythm Guitar - NothingRocks

Bass Guitar -

Drummer -

Vocalist -

(Keyboard) -

I would volunteer to play lead or keys but my recording equipment sucks atm. Sorry dude
How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?

Twelve. One to change the bulb and eleven to say they could do it better.

my recording skill is getting pretty good i have some decent equipment now, the only thing is im not a shredder, im more of a rhythm guy like yourself, i could take lead during the bulk of the song, but when it comes to composing solos i have my head up my ass haha. im down for whatever genres, it dosen't matter to me, pure death metal to metalcore to thrash to hardcore idgaf.

ive gotten better at recording since "metul" so ill try and get a more updated version of my sound. slurms is full band, but could be 100x better

I'm 18 and I intend to have a chat room where we can exchange ideas and swap recordings via a file-sharing service. Also if you have a USB Microphone would help so we could hear each of our ideas much quicker. It's not needed, but it could help.

no usb, im using a presonus firepod and a couple good mics to mic my cabnet in the closet haha.

i also know a really good bassist thats going to school for music if you cant find a bassist

Would you be willing to break out of the Groove-Based Prog for some songs? I wouldn't mind doing a few groove metal songs, but I'm more a fan of "traditional" Prog Metal. Would you be willing to make some Prog Metal? You've got some serious skill dude.

ill play anything really bud, but ive only got into the proggy stuff recently with bands like Periphery, Veil of Maya, Meshuggah Monuments and the like and theyre all very groove based. so im not very experienced with more traditional prog(like dream theatre i imagine).

what are youre general ideas? are you thinking covers or originals? what tunings do you play in?

im happy to do both man but i may not be the best choice.
Ive got a very limited knowledge of traditional prog and out of my 2 years of playing i can probably count the hours spent in standard tunings on both hands (long winded way of saying im much more used to drop tuned intervals/chords ect lol)

but yeah im happy to give it ago.
How are you intending to do the writing? have you got ideas you want people to add to or are you looking to bounce riff ideas of each other till something comes together?

^^i definitely have a more similar style to this guy i would say, being based on groove in low drop tunings. but i can do everything, i got guitars for every tuning haha.

A bit of both, if one of us feels like a riff could be improved or added on to then we do so. If it's a riff that we all like we'll use it. I have a ton of ideas that could be improved/used.
