Just as a fun thing to do, what is your dream gear? If I gave you 1 million dollars for strictly musical purposes, what would you get?
This is a just for fun thing btw.

There are no words to accurately describe my disdain for this post.
honeslty, it wouldnt be from a common name. if it would it would be thier custom shop. it would be a custom shop that would taylor EVERY detail i specified to my demands.

aside from about 3000 or under, if i had unlimited funds im sure any custom guitar is better. thats why i like carvin. so many options so for so much cheaper than they should be.

realisitically, the best ill ever have is a completely top of the line custom carvin. perhaps a PRS of some sort.
$1 million?

some Teles from the 50s and 60s
an old Strat and Les Paul
bunch of old Plexi Marshalls
Vintage Fender Deluxe Reverb
original Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face
pre-WWII Martin
Dave Gilmour strat

lots more im sure
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."
Hmm....Well I would get a Custom Schecter C-1 FR Hellraiser full white with white EMG 89R and White Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups and a rosewood fingerboard and the same inlays as the normal hellraisers. And I would also get an original Marshall Plexi Full stack and an old Fender Twin because they are amazing but to play that i need a White Fender American Deluxe strat with maple fingerboard of course!
Schecter C-1+ custom
Fender Princeton 65
DigiTech RP 1000 multi effects processor
Line 6 Spider 3 75 watt
You know what? I'd get my Peavey starter bass with a destroyed neck coz I sanded it like a retard and maybe an ok amp(LOL at my 10 watt peavey)... Don't dream about gear, it's not what makes you productive I mean who the hell got famous just coz they had expensive gear? Actually the Who on-stage destruction anyway.

when in doubt, adjust the truss rod.

Sfedf the First ...
or should it be the insane?
id buy a few hundred thousand spider IV's and have a bonfire

but seriously, a few ibanez jems and a few amps and the rest in the bank.
- Gibson Tennessean, modified with a Bigsby and strung up with D'Addario 11-50 flatwounds
- MXR Dyna Comp
- ProCo Rat
- Fender Bassman 4x10

So basically, my current gear with a different guitar

Gretsch G5120 >>> ProCo Rat >>> Fender Bassman 4x10
doesn't take much to make me happy.

7 string schecter, traynor ycs100..

Double bass pearl drum set.

and a huge soundproof jamspace with recording stuff
Grammar and spelling omitted as an exercise for the reader.
I'm pretty sure I would get the following, just for starters..

AxeFX Ultra along with an awesome power amp
A 412 with Celestion V30s
Ibanez RG2228
A custom 7-string
A custom 6-string as well
An EMG-equipped 6-string guitar as well, neck-thru, mahogany, hardtail, ebony board, 24 frets, 25.5" scale.. I know it's pretty easy to fill these requirements but I'd make it really nice and unique
Peavey 6505+ head
Engl Fireball (Possibly, or another Engl.. I never researched 'em that much)

Idk I'm sure I could list a thousand things..
I'd use that money to buy you a searchbar because you obviously don't have one already.

Where's Waldo?

Right.. Now that that's out of the way, I would get recording gear, a new amp and some pedals. The rest left over would go towards college and life.
Well, I've already got my dream guitar - Ibanez S2120XAV, so that's taken care of.

I'd love a Bogner Shiva, and honestly I'd love a Jem 7 string.

Truthfully, that'd do me just fine guitar-wise.

For bass, however, it's a different story.

Warwick Thumb 5/Spector U.S.A. NS-4H2-EX Spalted Maple Top
-> Ampeg SVT-4 PRO Series Head -> Heritage Series HSVT-810E 8x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

Life goes by?

There's a dick on Earth, too
It's you
59 Les Paul, Mark V, some old Marshalls, maybe some old Strats...
Joe Satriani isn't a man, but a god.
Oh, also, a Shure SM57 to mic it up

Gretsch G5120 >>> ProCo Rat >>> Fender Bassman 4x10
"use the searchbar!!!!"
"Not THIS thread again"
etc... Get over it lads.

Maybe a custom Ran or a Hufschmidt.

PRS-ish shape, Carved Top, maybe an Ash Body.
Maple fingerboard, Fixed bridge/Tailpiece.
No idea on pickup choice, but HSS setup either way.
maybe duncans, maybe bareknuckles.

Get a tasty 7 or 8 string too.

Amp? I'd get axe FX for recording.

I'd Get a Peavey Classic 50, and something mad and High gain like an ENGL screamer head and cab. Some tasty recording gear and a van. And a house.

a Million would cover that right?

Could we stretch it to 2? (billion...)
I want a hello kitty strat body made out of a massive black diamond
The neck will be made of african blackwood
The fret wire shall be platinum.
That is all.
Off the top of my head
A 59' Les Paul
an original 72' Tele Deluxe and a 72' Thinline
A custom Shop Tele
a vintage hardtail strat
Marshall Plexi, JCM800 and 2000
A Private stock PRS Custom 24
Miscellaneous pedals and other accessories

I'd get a custom Fender Stratocaster, Black with black 3 ply pickguard, cream or aged white pickups and knobs, rosewood fretboard with cream or aged white binding (same color as pup+knobs) like the Eric Johnson Rosewood Strat, and a Vintage style Strat covered Bridge (they exist).

Then I'd get a Marshall Class 5 (I'm not picky), a Vox AC15 and a Fender Blues Junior, and a three-way splitter and play my Strat through all three amps at the same time.

My Dream Rig is

Strat ->
3-way Splitter
-> Flanger -> Marshall Class5 (Full Volume, Low - 10, Mid - 10, Treble - 10)
-> Clean Boost -> Compressor/Sustainer -> Tremolo Input-> Vox AC15 (medium volume, lower bass, high mids, medium highs)
-> Octave Fuzz -> Blues Jr (Low Volume, High Bass, Low Mids, Low Treble, Barely Noticeable Reverb)

Sorry, I've been thinking about this for a while.
Actually, I go by Dave, but there are already too many Daves on this forum.

Fender MIM Stratocaster
Fender Jaguar Bass
Epiphone EJ200 Super Jumbo
Fender Excelsior 13w
Acoustic B300HD (with matching 1x12 cab)

If my guitar could be completely custom made I would like a dark blue explorer with white binding and a white pickguard, shs pickups with the single coil in the bridge slanted like on a tele or strat, a mahogany body with a bolt on, 22 fret maple neck with a maple fretboard with black dot inlays. If I had to get a guitar that already exists than I'd probably get the Fender Wayne Kramer strat.
I'd get stuff to build a studio, a drumkit, a bass rig and keyboards, as I already have everything I could want for guitar

Great pedalboard
Stereo rig with a blackface '67bassman and an Orange AD30
lots of guitars that I love

maybe a new cab for the bassman, but that's it, honestly

I'm forgetting a bunch more at the moment.

But shit, that'd be barely around the $200,000 mark.

Gibson SG.. well.. i don't have a "dream" SG. i have a real SG, and that's better than a dream one.
Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - preferably early '70s with the pancake body - they have a different sound that i like better.

My dream guitar would be my own custom-shop Jackson Soloist featuring an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and my own custom paint job graphics and pickup configuration.

Here's a computer generated image of it ():

The first image is a string-thru fixed bridge version of it, the second is Floyd Rose equipped. Although both images show a 24 fret neck, I would probably choose a 22 fret neck instead should I ever custom order this.

The pickup configuration is as followed:

Bridge: Seymour Duncan Hot Rails
Middle: Jackson Standard Single Coil
Neck: Dimarzio DP163 humbucker (which splits into a single coil)

Both the neck and middle pickups have individual tone controls, and there is one maser volume control. The toggle switch is a 5-way toggle switch, and there is and extra switch that splits the neck humbucker into a single coil. *Note to Strat players: for a good, warm sounding lead tone, set the toggle switch to where the neck and middle pickup are on simultaneously, then turn the tone for the neck to 0 and the middle pickup to 10.*

As for the paint job: I had this old candle sitting around, and I liked the pattern of it, but it also made me think "This would make a good guitar paint job". So I took a high-rez picture of it, saved it on my PC, then imported it into the creator that I used to make that CGI image of my custom guitar.

Now I wish I had over $9000 so I could get it made.

Exactly what I thought. A Gibson LP through an MG? That's like a crime against humanity, surely.
The one biggest thing that I would get would be a Gibson Byrdland with a florentine cutaway and a natural finish. Everything else would fall into place after that.
