This is a song I wrote for a friend who died a few years ago.

Maybe someday we’ll understand why this had to happen
But for now we’ll just wonder why you had to leave.
I know it’s hard to understand that a good person
Could be gone for no good reason so suddenly.
It seems like we’re all just here to live
So we can understand what real pain is.
So for all those days that someone here will miss you
We still have some small reminders so they don’t forget.

What did we do to deserve this tragedy?
All of our stories have the same ending.
And I’m on my knees asking why.
No matter how we live, and no matter where we stand,
We all fall victim in the end.
To this sickness we call life.

And someday in the future we’ll all run out of time
But our cries are unheard when we ask why.
And while you are healthy we still can’t be cured
But to leave us here so early, ‘Too soon’ just aren’t the right words.

What did we do to deserve this tragedy?
All of our stories have the same ending.
And I’m on my knees asking why.
No matter how we live, and no matter where we stand,
We all fall victim in the end.
To this sickness we call life.

And the saddest part is, is that you left so young.
With your hopes and your dreams and your life unfulfilled.
And it doesn’t seem fair that you weren’t given a chance,
And you aren’t the first to go and you won’t be the last.

This peice was quitely and deeply very powerful. I found myself getting deeply involved in the story you were telling, trying to relate and understand. And you know what man? I did. You wrote it wel enough where I felt physically pained after the last line. That is the mark of a rare peice my friend. This was incredible.

The chorus was picture perfect, it really just brought everything together like a good chorus should. The last stanza was my personal favorite, it wrapped things up on a somber note, and the "and you arent the first to go and you wont be the last" was the perfect finisher.

This is a peice that will stick with me for a long time. It made me think, consider, feel. Really amazing job here.

Too lazy to come up with a clever or relevant sig.
