As it says, I have two sets of headphones with only one side working on each so I would like to try and attach the two working pieces to one set so I have a fully functioning set for recording this weekend. However it doesn't seem to be working, I am a novice and electronics.

Out of one set I have a gold and red wire and out of the headphone I want to attach I have a gold and blue. Whenever I attach them (just by holding them together) in any pairing nothing happens

Is it possible to put them both together?
thanks

headphones are a pita to wire, you have to solder them together for them to work, put the gold wires together and put the blue to the red and they should work, good luck.

I'd think the wiring rather than the driver would have failed. All the headphones I've had die on me have cut out at the plug end or at the contacts to the ears.
