this nylon string guitar they gave me
it doesnt have a brand name or anysort of marking distinguish it but i like it and it actually sound decent just strung it up lefty and use it as a beater

$500 can get you a pretty decent low-mid range guitar, i think low end should be <$200. My favourite under $500 would be:

It costs $499.99 at musiciansfriend (although would probably cost more for me since I'm in canada)

Well I haven't had a chance to test this one properly yet but I picked it up the other day for $200AU:

FR style bridge, 2 humbuckers and a single coil. I'm also pretty fond of my Epiphone Les Paul Junior and play that a lot, that cost me $150AU new.

Epiphone Les Paul Junior

No. He's trying to sell it for 800 because he was clearly ripped off as the MRSP is 700. Let him make his sale.

I have no idea where you would get one. I picked this up second hand the other day. It looks a lot like an ESP LTD-F but has some extra cuts, the headstock is branded with "Human".

I see. Would you be willing to sell it for a higher price plus shipping?

They're interesting, since I got my first guitar with an FR, I haven't bought one without one ever since.

at less than $500 used, i have a few

Gibson SGVM - traded a mexi strat $50 and a gig bag, got this guitar and a hardcase.

talk about a good deal.

this thing was seriously underrated.
i got this and a MIM strat and this for a Randall SS amp i think it was the G3

traded the MIM strat and the Hamer for this rare baby. 1/400 produced

I unfortunately don't have my favorite low end guitar anymore it was a victim of a tragic accident while moving. But it was a Washburn Lyon series strat copy I bought at a garage sale for 50 bucks. It sounded like crap but it had (IMO) a beautiful finish and was super comfortable to play. I own several (1500$+) guitars but if I ever find one of those again I am going to buy it for posterity. Good thread btw

EDIT that SG above me is effing beautiful.

I couldn't even tell you the exact model. It's an ibanez gio, rg looking body, SSH, black with a white pick guard. Bought it off my buddy for $100. Has the ugliest pink flaming skull sticker on it haha I started to take it off but it just looked weird so I kept it on.

This here. Used $500

Ibanez RG7420 with the popular Crunchlab/Liquifire combo.

My parents bought it for me as a joint Birthday and Christmas present, as we don't come from a very rich family. Long story short, worked my ass off, got enough money ($460) to pay for the pickups and installation (keep in mind, I live in Australia .

My two favorites are my ESP LTD H-302 and my Gretsch Pro Jet. I picked them each up for about $300 used.

I picked up the H-302 the other day. It's an amazing guitar with 24 XJ frets, mahogany body with a flamed maple top, and a maple neck thru body. When I picked it up it was already loaded with a set of EMG 81/85s and matching gold straplocks. Very sweet and fast playing guitar. (photos below are off google, I don't have pics of mine yet).

The Gretsch was in really rough shape when I got it. I stripped it apart and gave it a full cleaning, removed the pickguard, replaced the stock knobs with black speedknobs, and swapped out the pups for a set of P-90s. It has a chambered mahogany body and the P-90s sound awesome in it - very bluesy.

That splawn......

My pick for best low end guitar would probably be a schecter damien. I don't own one, but from what I played there very nice for the price.
You belong in a museum.

my favorite actual cheap guitar would be mah pacifica 112j that I heaivily modded. Used to look like the one above, but with a black body.
Now, it looks like this:

It's still one of the guitars I use the most, between a Gretsch, a Gibson and a Musicman.
Speaking of the musicman, since everyone is cheating and talking about guitars they paid 500 bucks instead of the price they're worth, here's my favorite guitar I paid 500 for (and it was new in the case and in the plastic bag)

My Epiphone G400 Faded Cherry impresses me the more I play it. I bought it used and from the moment I picked it up I knew it was perfect. The neck fit my hand wonderfully and the action was great. Low but not ridiculously low. Not a buzz on the neck and it just looked great. I was really excited to get it home and play it. When I plugged it in it sounded absolutely perfect. I thought that the pickups might not have been stocked since they sounded so great but they were stock to my astonishment! My dad picked it up for me at a cost of $240 bucks. Best guitar I have every played.

aSince others have cheated and shown guitars they have gotten inexpensively despite NOT begin low end, I'll give you 2 (both bought from out of state GC used and shipped to me)

Yamaha PAC 921D. Stock Dimarzios (steve's specials and HS2), heel less neck attachment, height adjustable lock nut, RM PRO II trem, a SICK neck profile with jumbo frets. These will embarrass so many big name expensive guitars that it isn't funny....paid a whopping $150 for it used:

And then there's this Charvel Model 3DR I paid all of $119 for:

Ok...that pacificas neck is awsome and i want to steal ur charvel
