So guys, I'm putting together the music playlist for an upcoming party. I'm no DJ but I've been put in charge of music. However, I need to have a playlist that's gonna fill around 3-4 hours and that's alot of dance music to find by myself, so...

What songs would get you dancing/screwfacing on the dancefloor?

It mostly depends on the people. But things like Neon Indian and Talking Heads help suit different tastes while at the same time being danceable.

Real dubstep, or no dubstep.

Play a mix between new, currently popular songs and old classics; at least, that's what I'd do. From my experience, that tends to make everyone happy - gives something for everyone.

- Lady Gaga (Poker Face; Bad Romance; Telephone)
- Black Eyed Peas (I Gotta Feeling; Let's Get It Started)
- Jackson 5 (ABC; I Want You Back)
- Ike & Tina Turner (Proud Mary)
- Far East Movement (Like a G6)
- Cee Lo Green (Fuck You!)
- M.I.A. (Paper Planes)
- Jay-Z (Empire State of Mind)
- Daft Punk (Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger; One More Time)
- Rihanna (Umbrella; S&M)
- The Beatles (Twist and Shout)
- B.O.B. (Nothing On You)
- Journey (Don't Stop Believing)

etc.

Hope that helps a bit.

lots and lots and lots of dubstep because everyone loves dubstep

I usually find dubstep remixes instead of originals though.

I'd go for breakcore, J-Core, Speedcore, Dubstep and Jungle

Copypasta from (part of) a recent set of mine, got the crowd going nicely

Noisia- Gutterpump
Mason- Exceeder
Deadmau5- Bad selection
Put your hands up for detroit
Deadmau5- The reward is cheese
Let the bass kick in miami bitch
Camo & Krooked History of the Future (Cheeky edit i've got in the process for this one)
Gold Dust (Vocal VIP)
Shock one- Polygon
Tarantula
>>>Break- Let it happen
Aztec
Barbra Streisand
Barbra Striesand (Darth & Vadar Remix) (Maybe)
Deadmau5- Maths
Gettin Over
Wolfgand Gartner- Illmerica
Ghosts n Stuff (Rob Swire)
Nero- Me and you (Kamuki Remix)
Me and You (Original)
Cutline- let me go
Eastern Jam
When I look at you
Sub Focus-
We no speak americano
Animal Rights
Feedme- Grand Theft Ecstasy
Dataloss (Darth & Vader remix)
Pass out
Rock it
Friction- Stand up
>>> Artisan VIP
Could this be real (DnB)
The smoker (Tantrum Desire Mix)

That was the plan anyway but it ended up a bit more commercial (dance pop type ones eg Lady Gaga, Usher etc) with less dubstep.
