Hey UG I have a basswood guitar, an older higher end pacifica. I am dealing with dimarzio since they have a 30 day return policy on pickups. The guitar is way too bright sounding since it has a maple neck and a aluminum plate that connects the neck to the body. I ordered a crunch lab ceramic and wondered if I should have ordered alnico tone zone instead. If anyone has either one of these pickups by all means please leave a comment

Thanks

I forgot to mention I had an alnico SD SH-11 in the guitar before with a different amp and it produced a more mushy tone and can't help but wonder if that is the way all alnico pups sound.

Ceramics are usually punchier than alnico's, if that's what you're asking.

Hey thanks for the response, yeah knew that alnico's sounded like they were a little softer sounding.

Surely there is somene that uses the crunch lab or tone zone in their guitars?
