just found out about these while hanging out at a local aromatherapy/traditional african store. Probably one of the coolest sounding instruments i've heard in a while. Basically amounts to a plywood snare, but it's just a tad more awesome than that.

we sometimes use one in my church when playing acoustic... I personally don't really find them that great

Saw/heard one for the first time a few months ago at a local pub's open mic night, thought it was great and ive wanted one since then

We use one all the time when playing acoustic for jazz and stuff in my guitar class. It's awesome.
