I've had a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for well over a year now, and for some reason its been gradually getting some kind of static noise in the clean channel...not loud enough to be a problem when you're playing music but its audible. How can I go about fixing this?

The tubes are going bad in the clean channel preamp. As tubes age they can go microphonic or induce more hiss. Try changing the preamp tubes to see if that fixes the problem.

This should solve your problem. To test it you can switch your preamp tubes around a bit, and see if the noise changes. V1 tube usually is the first to go, so if you switch that with another it might help.
