So say I have $1000 and I want an awesome guitar.
I already have a fender strat and a schecter c1. I want to be able to play pretty much everything on it but mostly be able to shred. I kind of wanted a telecaster but I don't think that would be good for shredding, plus not enough frets I'm assuming. Recommendations?

well for shredding and 1000 dolars an ibanez should be right up your alley im sure you can get a prestige for that price

Can't you shred on the C1? But yeah, an Ibanez will be a good shred guitar at that price. A Charvel or high-end Kramer might also suit you well.
Gibson ES-137C
Parker P8EN
AC Custom Special P Bass

I would say a Prestige or Premium series Ibanez RG, those should be right in your price range.

If you want a Tele, Charvel has a tele with 2 humbucker (a JB and Jazz if I remember) and a OFR. I don't know if they make them anymore, they might be out of production.

And you can shred on anything, just need some high(er) output pickups and a good amp.

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.

I'm too old for the Jim Morrison look now. When I was gigging I had a fine arse.

I have a fender jazzmaster and it works alright to play fast but you will be better off with an ibanez from my point of view

Just remembered, Carvin makes a Tele with whatever you want, and should be in your price range.

Personally, I would go with a Carvin over anything else. Those are truly hand built, probably the best quality you can get for under a few grand.
