After checking out some footage from NAMM there seems to be a generation of new loopers about to surface.

Boss have two coming out, the RC-3 single pedal and the RC-30 which is to replace the RC-20
Here are links to each:
RC-3: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1159
RC-30: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1160&ParentId=251

These two both boast a huge 3 hour recording time as well as 99 separate tracks and two track stereo looping with an XLR input and phantom power.

Vox, surprisingly enough, is about to dive into the looper market with the Vox Dynamic looper
Have a link: http://www.voxamps.com/pedals/vdl1/

This station seems to be a lot more for live looping with only a 90 second looping time and in mono quality.
It also has an XLR input but no phantom power meaning you'll either have to buy a mixer or use a dynamic mic if you want to loop vocals.
Of course all that gone leaves space for a rather epic compact multieffects complete with a cute little rocking switch.

So, opinions on each?

I think that the Vox is defiantly made for live looping while the new Boss pedals are almost compact recording tools but the absence of phantom power is almost a deal breaker for me.

Meh. Digitech has had the whole 3 hour + time & 99 track looper thing going on for a while. Boss is slow.

yeah in my opinion, digitech jamman series = best for having preloaded loops and some live looping. line 6 dl4 = best for quick on the fly looping on a budget. boomerang looper = ultimate on the fly looper
