Hey UG,

I remember Jack White talking about a two piece (guitarist and drummer) band from Detroit that played raw electric blues, basically the White Stripes, before the White Stripes were The White Stripes. What's the name of the band? I forget.

I wanted to say The Black Keys, but they are from Ohio. But they are exactly what you describe.

Flat Duo Jets/Dexter Romweber is right. If I remember correctly Jack White was talking specifically about seeing the Flat Duo Jets live as the inspiration for the minimalistic nature in which the White Stripes Recorded/Performed. Great Documentary and I have to say, for as much as Jimmy Page has accomplished I couldn't believe how humble he was.
