This is the first lyrics I wrote more than half a year ago. In the mean time I have written more lyrics for an album that will never exist (Love, War & Rock'n'roll) due to the reason that there is and probably will never be somebody to sing it.

For these lyrics I have a musical theme and some poor impersonation of a melody (except the guitar solo that I really like). Since I am a lousy guitar player the song is only a digital rendering by a software with a laptop (one can imagine the "sound"). And the voice is just a church choir since I have not been able to find a friend that could actually sing.

The song is about the crusade battle of Guy of Lusignan versus Saladin.

So, here it goes.

THE CRUSADER

INTRO

VERSE1

Riders of the land be welcome
I hope you cleaned your hearts and sharp the swords
Let your horses rest for now and settle
Gather round the fire and hear my words

The enemy is striking with great power
Thousands upon thousands evil knights
The last defense of this final hour
For death or glory rests with us

CHORUS

When the dawn will come we shall ride to glory
When the dawn will come some will ride to death
In the name of God and of all that's holy
Of the pope, the king and the motherland

When the dawn will come we shall ride to glory
When the dawn will come some will ride to death
And the ones who survive long shall tell the story
Chant thy legend of this wretched land

VERSE2

The battle will be fierce as hell is on their side
With nothing more to stop them than valor and our pride
The earth will soak the spillage of blood that weapons shed
The air will shake and tremor by mute cries of the dead

And long the crows be gonneth and corpses will be bones
When some of us will make it back to their loved homes
The truth and good is with us but let's now talk no more
Go make your prayers brave men The time for peace has gone

GUITAR SOLO

From the tremedous number of opinions expressed on the matter above (zero) I got it: crappy. So I'm coming back for a last shot with my best piece (imho) so far. Hope this one works out.

TORMENT

True hate is crawling up my spine
I feel the call of demons from within
The torment of my life, the pain and lust
She's taken - and all I can think is sin

I want to hate, I want to kill
Want her to have me deep inside
Her husband should be done by steel
So he will die - and she will be my bride

---- Prayer

Oh lord, i ask you not forgive
Nor to forget, nor give a damn
I beg you true, by heart i swear
I'll rott in hell and would not care
I'll burn and suffer and repent

Oh lord, but beg you let me live

Oh lord I ask you give me judgement
I killed a man - the deed is done
Prepared I am for whatever may come
And will stand tall when into hell descend

But there's one thing I ask you as a mortal
That lives with lust and hope and crawls in slum
Please, lord, oh powerful, have mercy
Release your curse and give me days to come

----------- Finale
(sang with a devilish voice)

A deal with God, that's what my enemy has done
A deal? Nay, prayer was at most fulfilled
Hoping to have more days so he enjoys
The woman of the man that he had killed

Tomorrow in hell's stench he will awaken
My poison will have worked and I will have his wife
His God must have had him forsaken
My two for one dispense will grant me life

His poor contract with God is overtaken
For I have made a better deal: with Satan

hey sorry no one got to this. happens. a couple of my personal faves were entirely overlooked round these parts.

the lyrics do what they're supposed to and seem to flow alright.
not my favorite style but you've done well.
