Hello, I need a little knowledge here! About Ibanez guitars it's told that some has 3 piece Maple neck, or 5 piece maple neck etc etc. What does 3 piece or 5 piece actually mean? 3/5 pieces of maple wood joined/glued together to make the neck?

Is it possible to identify a 5piece or 3piece neck just by seeing? Or u gotta check it's specification?

My RG1570 is a 5piece maple according to its specification, but can I be sure of that by looking on it?

Thanks!

This is not a very good pic but you can see a little bit of the wood pieces

ok I think I can see 3 piece here. by the way, there are two black narrow lines on the joints of neck woods (unlike the pic above). are they glue? or woods?
