SEARCHSEARCH!SEARCH!

I did, I didn't find a real explanation on the first page of search results. And theres no way I'm delving into the pedalboard thread.

A tube screamer was basically designed to sound like an overdriven tube amp back in the day when tube amps didn't have master volumes and therefore needed to be cranked to get a good natural overdrive. But a lot of people have found that it's much more effective to simply set the level high and turn down the distortion on the pedal. This boosts the signal of the guitar, making it overdrive the tubes in the amp. It also has a distinctive, mid-centric voicing that's useful for tightening up your tone.

TS just didn't use the right searchbar. I don't think the Pit is a good place for getting for information on a tube screamer.

Really it was just easier to point it out that way than to go into an explanation, sorry.

There are advanced options. You can pick out which forum you want to search and a few other things, but the search function does really suck. I don't know if I've ever actually found what I was looking for from it lol.

Oops, nevermind. If you use the search link at the top instead of the search box, then you can. I feel like a dumbass. I just have never used the actual search link.

For the money, I don't think anything can beat a TS7 as a boost. Got mine for $20. ****ing best $20 I've ever spent on gear, ever.
