is there a risk of being electrocuted when playing electric guitar thru and amp during a lightning storm?

Being electrocuted? Unlikely.
Getting a power surge and damaging your amp? More likely.

Its generally a bad idea to use any electrical devices during a lightning storm, a power surge can destroy most electrical devices pretty easily.

all of my equipment is on surge-protection.

It's not that smart to have your (expensive) electronics plugged in during a storm. I don't really even trust surge protectors.

i have all my stuff on a big APC surge protector/backup battery thing. its massive. its also nice, because if power cuts for a sec, my playing is uninterrupted, and its not as hard on the tubes if you were to loose power and have it cut on and send all of that voltage straight to your amp. it has like >$100,000 (think $250,000, but not positive) insurance on what you plug into it if you regester it.
