looks like a 60's jazz bass with pickup covers, probably a squier that someone painted the headstock

ah alright thanks, it was at a pawn shop for $85 but the low e string buzzed a little near the higher frets so i passed on it

Possibly a SX without the F logo on the bridge ashtray.
That fretbuzz would've been an easy fix.

EDIT: Oh, if it's MIK then I wouldn't have a clue.

Back in the day. Not anymore I don't think. Mostly Indonesia and China these days. Could be anything really, but those pickup covers are too square to be Fenders if they're stock and I can't remember Squier ever putting out anything that looked like that bass.
