Hello cruel world,
Let’s go for a ride,
On the road where the crooks,
And the criminals lie,
And there on the sidewalk,
A homeless man begs,
A tired old veteran,
Without any legs,

Somewhere in the city,
A man’s getting mugged,
If only as a child,
His robber got hugged,
A brutal car crash,
Someone’s gonna die,
We sit back and watch,
While he’s squished like a fly,

I’m the ugly kind of happy,
And that’s okay for my life,
And I’m pretty damn sure that there’s,
Nowhere I can hide,

Hey Mister Asshole,
Get out of my way,
I won’t let your attitude,
Ruin my day,
Come on, I’m in a hurry,
I’m running late,
To my appointment I had,
Yesterday,

I’m the ugly kind of happy,
And that’s okay for my life,
And I’m pretty damn sure that there’s,
Nowhere I can hide,
I’m the shitty kind of lucky,
And it doesn’t bother my mind,
I’m the awful kind of lovely,
And I’ve left myself behind.

nice! i can hear that as a folk song!
Do you love Alice In Chains and Metallica? How about Tool and Velvet Revolver?...then you need to check out one of the most refreshing new hard rock bands in awhile...-->The Liberty Underground<--

It's actually supposed to be a mock of a happy folk song, so that's kind of what I was going for.

I have the basic chords down for it, but nothing else yet, so maybe in a few days.

At first I didn't like some of the lines, such as "If only as a child,
His robber got hugged,"

or "A brutal car crash,
Someone’s gonna die,
We sit back and watch,
While he’s squished like a fly,"

But then when it was talked of it being a folk song, It clicked. This is a great set of lyrics for a folk song, especially the first stanza, the "Mister Asshole" part was kind of a shock value, but at the same time it added to that "city life" the whole song is speaking of. Upload this when you're done, I'd love to hear it.
Poop.

Yes, poop.

I'd give my left testicle to write something as good as this... Well maybe not but it was still good!

Really strong ending. I enjoyed the whole piece from the moment i started reading it. It really pulled me in. The rhyme scheme and rhythm really adds to the feel of the words. Would love to hear it! If you have time would you mind critting one of my pieces? I have 2 links in my sig.
