Just wondering how well this would work, and if I would somehow be better off staying with my Traynor DG30.

I'm looking at Agile 8 strings.

i'd be more concerned with whether the amp can handle the low end using that guitar. VK's work fine with active pickups but not so sure if they have the low end covered for an 8-string. you'd almost undoubtedly need a better speaker than the stock one.

How easy would it be to get a good speaker? The amp is about $400, (I'd sell my Traynor for hopefully 300) so a good speaker that could handle the lows would be...?

Or would i be better off with a new amp? I went through that 9 string thread, and they said a Hartke VX amp would be awesome.
