I got an offer on Craigslist, someone wants to trade me a Mapex V series drum set ($460) for an '87 American-made Peavy Nitro (he says it's valued around $600-$700.) It looks to be in good condition. Can anyone validate the value on the guitar?

I'm going to go ahead and say that's high. That might be a book valuation, but it's higher than a real street valuation. US Peaveys are great guitars, but they can normally be had a good bit cheaper than that. It's fairly common to see them around $200-$400 asking price for ones in very good condition.

Oh okay. So would you say that I should hold off on that deal or what? Do you think it'll be easier to sell than a drumset? Definitely easier to store at least.
