Stranger Danger (Cancer in Candy Cigarettes)

Every time I meet a woman
It’s a race to breaking hearts
I'm always yanking out my stitches
Just to give her a head start

I never leave my room
Without a backpack full of maps
And if I stopped someone might see me
So I'm always walking fast

What else can you do?
When the worlds full of stranger danger
Who can you trust?
When your life says that lonely is safer
What will you do?
If a slip-up puts you on the radar
What will you do when they say they love you?
And that they're concerned

She said:
“There's cancer in candy cigarettes”
What’ s next?
Gonna tell me I can't stare at a solar eclipse
And I'll bet
In every apple there's a razor blade
Cause I learned early on
From some talking police dog
Every stranger wants to hurt me

Every time I lay in bed
Stroking my slowly leaking eyes
Nothing sings me to sleep
Like these liquid lullabies

That I keep in a glass case
Marked “For emergencies take one”
But it seems to me
They're always dialing 911

What else can you do?
When the worlds full of stranger danger
Who can you trust?
When your life says that lonely is safer
What will you do?
If a slip-up puts you on the radar
What will you do when they say they love you?
And that they're concerned

She said:
“There's cancer in candy cigarettes”
What if?
I can't stare at another solar eclipse
And I'll bet
In every apple there's a razor blade
Cause I learned early on
From some talking police dog
Every stranger wants to hurt me
Every stranger wants to exploit me
Every stranger wants to kill me
(kill me kill me kill me)

Now I never wear my glasses
Just to soften up life edge
And when I need perspective
I just put things in my head

Because if I can't be me
I can just be someone else
It’s when I'm boldly plagiarizing
That I outdo myself

What else can you do?
When the worlds full of stranger danger
Who can you trust?
When your life says that lonely is safer
What will you do?
If a slip-up puts you on the radar
What will you do when they say they love you?
And that they're concerned

She said:
“There's cancer in candy cigarettes”
What’s next?
I can't stare at another solar eclipse
And I'll bet
There's an apple in every razor blade
Cause I learned early on
From some talking police dog
Every stranger wants to hurt me
Every stranger wants to exploit me
Every stranger wants to kill me
I wish every stranger would just love me
As I tend to fall in love frequently

She said:
“There's cancer in candy cigarettes”
What’s next?
What’s the latest fear to be afraid of?
Quick, what’s next?
What will be my latest phobia?
What’s next?
What’s the latest fear to be afraid of?
What’s next?
What’s next?

Hey guys, just wrote this and have some chords and a melody. Its written to a simple folk chord progression and folky vocals. Constructive criticism is appreciated! If you link a piece you would like me to crit i will do it with gusto XD.
