Im a electric guitar metalhead, but I recently got into playing acoustic stuff. Ive never owned an acoustic and have only sat down with one 4-5 times in my life + recent store visits. And now Im growing tired of learning Scenes songs(Master Friedman) with my EMGs, so Im looking for a good acoustic electric guitar to play around with.

My main focus was looking for a pretty natural look guitar that sounded good and was cheap. There are none of these in the few stores close to my home. So I went online and came across a fender CD220CE and an Ibanez AES10EAM. The fender has a laminated dao body, and the ibanez has a figured ash body(idk what that means). Both guitars are absolutely beautiful. Youtube doesnt have many videos on these, but I saw a video on the fender and it sounded pretty good despite the laminated body. I dont really have a budget, it might be 300 today then 200 tommorrow then 350 the day after that...

Just what guitar would you choose if there was no other guitars in the world. The fender is a dreadnought and the ibanez is a smaller guitar.

what laminate means is that there's a thin veneer of dao or ash, and beneath that is one or more slices of a cheaper more common wood. i wouldn't bother owning either of them. i'd get a yamaha fgx720 as it has a solid top, better unplugged sound, yamaha quality and you can choose natural, black or sunburst. a very good deal.

looking for something more exotic and smaller? the fender tim armstrong hellcat is very popular, and unlike the two you listed, it has a solid top, which means better quality sound unplugged http://backstage.musiciansfriend.com/Guitars/Acoustic-Electric-Guitars/6-String-Acoustic-Electric-Guitars/Tim-Armstrong-Hellcat-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-Natural.site1sku580406000010000.sku

looking for a fender but a bigger one? voila! the fender CD140SCE is a pretty pleasant guitar with a solid top, sounds pretty good. and it's cheaper than the two you list.

IMHO Yamaha makes pretty good acoustic guitars especially compared to a sub-$200 Fender. If you could get your hands on a used one I would go for it. From a quick glance on eBay it looks like there are quite a few on there.
