Cant wait for this one... the debut was absolutely class! Excellent, if somewhat derivative, heavy metal. Apparently these tracks are going to be longer than the debut...they must be really incorporating the Mercyful Fate influence. Anyways, fans of Enforcer, Portrait, Ram - get on this shit.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

I've been meaning to check this band out for a while now. Probably gonna do a blind buy on one of their albums based on the bands you're comparing them to.

Theres a new RAM one later in the year too, so thats In Solitude, RAM, Wolf and Portrait releasing new albums. Bloody good year for heavy metal based on just those!

Where should I start with RAM? Also, what are the best Wolf albums? I've heard from someone that their newest one(s) were sub-par?

RAM i'd start with Lightbringer, although they only have 2 albums and the first one was very good too.

As Ziggy said, every Wolf album is good. My favourites are the self titled and Ravenous, but they're all brilliant really.

'The World. The Flesh. The Devil' is fantastic stuff. Something about it...it sounds like it's extremely laid back, but at the same time is still traditional heavy metal...which isn't typically "laid back" at all. It makes for a unique listen. Loving the vocals as well.

This is UH MAY ZING!

Getting this shit. How many albums they released so far and which one should I start out on? I just listened to The World The Flesh The Devil(Penisman quoted it so I looked it up) and it was great.

Two albums. The aforementioned one is the second album. I'd stay start with that one since you enjoyed the song! Cool band live as well.

If this thread is going to stay active, the title should be changed to reflect the fact that TWTFTD isn't new anymore.

In Solitude are old school metal with quite a wink to Mercyful Fate and The Devil's Blood is retro 70s hard rock with a lot of psychedlic influences in it.

Mad to think that 'The World...' has been out since May last year. Quite simply, it's some of the best straight up heavy metal since 'In The Shadows'. The songwriting, hooks, solos, vocals, everything is just completely killer, hard to think that the band are still so young. 'To Her Darkness' could easily become a metal anthem in the next few years to come....

I agree. Its hard to believe its been like half a year since SOPA, and the cinnamon challenge. Don't know why that made me think of that

Couldn't agree more. The first album still holds up exceptionally well four years later as well!

So.... the new stuff sounds more like Christian Death with a heavy metal edge. And is utterly killer!!

Never cared much for this band, but that song sounded really good.

Not legally. It's the shit though. Their best work to date in my opinion. Saw 'em live with Tribulation and Watain a while back. Really good show. The bass player was a better front man than the vocalist haha. Apparently they're brothers.

Yeah, the title-track is so good that I think I'll have to grab this one despite being less than enthusiastic about them in the past years.

Don't know how you could not like The World. The Flesh. The Devil. Absolutely stellar heavy metal. I'm actually not sure what I think about Sister.
Who are you? The prince of darkness? Don't you have any friends?

I guess it has something to do with seeing them live in 2010 and thinking they were some sort of a joke. Frankly I've never given them a fair chance.

Everyone still spinning this on a regular basis? Because I am! Definitely one of the most unique records from this year... Born Headless, how much of the new/old/middle stuff did they play live?

In Solitude call it quits.

Really fucking bummed about this, to be honest. Passed them up last year in favour of Manllia Road at Live Evil. Was really hoping to get to see them live this year. Shite.
