So I have my guitar setup in drop c tuning and the low c string snapped. I might not be able to get any new strings till in about a week or two so I was wondering if I should take the string off of my guitar I don't play and put it on there just to keep tension for the week or two? or just leave it off and adjust the guitar when I put the new strings on? I'm not sure if leaving the string off for that long will have a negative effect on it, I'm sure nothing bad will happen, but I wanted to ask UG for their expert advice.

Thanks for any help!

na it should be fine... if you have the time, I guess it cant do any harm to put the new string on...
if it was me, I'd leave it and get a new set in the post. that would be quicker than 1 or 2 weeks right?
