Probably some 40 minute dream theater song, just so everyone at my funeral has to sit there and listen to a song for 40 minutes.

I want to play "Chainsaw fellatio" by Venetian snares.
And I will write a note saying everyone must rave to it.

And there will be a rainbow disco ball.
There's a good chance that what I've written above is useless and if you take any of the advice it's your own fault.

It's kinda hard. I wouldn't want it to be a very popular song, 'cuz then my friends and relatives would be reminded about my death everytime they hear it.

It happend to my friend once. We were in da club, drinkin, dancin, nice ladies and all that stuff... and then suddenly there was house-remix (!) of some opera song that was played on my friend's gradmother's funeral.
He rushed out the club because he was crying.

So, no popular song but still one I enjoy. It would be this one:

My funeral's gonna wind up being like a concert. I set up an entire playlist of songs that I want played at my funeral. They are as follows:

Intro (Pre-funeral):
Forever In Your Hands-All That Remains
If I Die Tomorrow-Motley Crue
To Live Is To Die-Metallica
The Green Fields Of France-Dropkick Murphys

To my family (parents & sister):
Leave Out All The Rest-Linkin Park

To my closest friends:
Carry Me Down-Demon Hunter

To all other relatives:
Darkness-Disturbed

To my wife and children:
Your Guardian Angel-Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

To everyone as my final goodbye:
A Toute Le Monde-Megadeth

I have thought about this way too much for my own good........
Some people just wanna watch the world burn. Wanna join me when I take my turn to pour the gas, light the match, see your world flip upside down and drop until it's inside out?

Keep Me in Your Heart for a While - Warren Zevon

He wrote this song before he died, it is on his last album, the Wind, all the songs on that album were written in the knowledge that he was going to die after it was released.

It chokes me up every time I hear it, because it is EXACTLY how I want to be remembered.
"If I leave you, it doesn't mean I love you any less"
"Sometimes when you're doing simple things around the house / Maybe you'll think of me and smile / I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse / Keep me in your heart for a while".
"When the winter comes, Keep the fires lit, and I will be right next to you."

Its so goddamned beautiful in its simplicity. Its not cheesy or overly self-indulgent. He has his final message (I hope I've done more good for you then bad, and I hope you remember the good times), and he says it simply and poignently. I cannot think of a better song to fit my own thoughts of death.

RIP Warren, we all miss you

first, i want 'fly like a g6' to play.

then, i want it to break 10 seconds into it, have the audio ripped from the dark knight - joker's laugh, then proceed to 'for whom the bell tolls' by metallica, if possible to have at loudest volume. nobody is permitted to leave the room.

I thought it was the law to have The Spirit Carries On played?

edit: Ah yes, beaten to it

It is the law, don't worry.

But this, and the Yakety Sax music being played when they're carrying my coffin. I want people to laugh god dammit
