I have bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 595's and out of sheer curiosity, I took a look at the infamous Beats by Dre joke for headphones on display at Best Buy. I listened for a bit, and then switched the jack w/ my headphones to notice that my $120 Sennheisers in my humble opinion, outperformed the $300 Beats in tone, low end, and heck, outperformed everything!

When I see people walking around with Beats headphone, I look at it as them broadcasting their lack of research before wasting their money. I'm not a heavy $324325 headphone seeker to find those absolute perfection headphones--I solely just wanted something that can upkeep with the higher quality of recording nowadays that require higher demand from your headphones. I'm curious about your input on the Beats headphones though… (this is where you type)

i don't know about specific brands of studio headphones, but going off what you say it sounds like the beats are better. the point of studio headphones is that they give a true representation of the sound of the song. if a song sounds full and amazing through studio headphones, then it'll sound even better through a stereo or someone's personal headphones.

You really can't go wrong with Sennheiser. With the Dre model, you're paying for his name. Don't get caught in the marketing hype - more expensive isn't always more better. Sennheiser is quality stuff.

i have the same opinion as probably a lot of people on here; they're nothing special and they're just marked up for the dr dre name on them; theres definitely better headphones at that price, and at lower prices for that matter

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
