So I'm pretty much definitely getting a epiphone traditional pro and was wondering what you guys thought the best looking finish is I really don't like the wine red so it's between the cherry burst or ebony for me heres a link for you to check all 3 out:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Traditional-Pro-Electric-Guitar-105939029-i1515777.gc

whether I get ebony or the burst I will be putting gold speed knobs and the gibson vintage tuner heads with pearloid tuners heres the link for those 2 (I'll also be removing the scratch plate):

so which finish would look best in your oppinion with the parts I'm adding/taking off? I'm trying to get it to kinda look like the Gibson traditional minus the chrome pickups (never was a fan of those)

Cherry burst, but you have to choose what you like most, other opinions shouldn't matter.

My favorite finish? When you throw it up in the air and it comes down right on top of the headstock. The noise is pure sex...

Yeah I realize it's really about what I like but I'm 50/50 on cherry burst vs ebony so that's why I asked

FWIW - guitars with a black finish show finger prints, smudges and scratches way more than other finishes. Don't know if you care about that. But if you're looking for something to push you in one direction or the other, the cherry burst won't look as "used" after playing it.

That could definitely factor...would they both look good with the parts I'm getting and removing the pickguard?

My LP is ebony. If I had a chance to buy it again I would get the silverburst. We can't take back the past!
Gibson Les Paul Classic
Fender Stratocaster (Mexican)
Hagstrom Ultra Swede
Music Man Axis Sport

White. But unfortunately that model gets Jewed with finishes - so get the red. Black is horrendous on most guitars, all smudgy and glossy. It's not a car.

TV yellow.

Got it:
Pacifica 604w, Hohner G3T, PRS SE Soapbar I, Schecter Ultra I
Fender 'evil' Twin, Marshall 2554 combo

Yeah, they'd both look good like that. I'm sure you'd be happy with either one. I don't have anything against black guitars. I have a black Gretsch Pro Jet that looks really sweet. I just have to wipe the smudges off it more often than my other guitars. If you go with the ebony one just be prepared to have it look smudgy and scratched most of the time

I think Gibby/Epi LP's don't look so hot without pickup guards, the guitars just look weird without them. Every other similar model though looks just fine (Ibanez ART/ESP EC).

same... i think it looks better with the pickguard.

this is the only finish of a les paul that really does it for me:

i've nearly bought a wine red les paul deluxe just because of the looks too many times now.
Rig Winter 2017:

Fender Jazzmaster/Yamaha SG1000
Boss TU-3, DS-2, CS-3, EHX small stone, Danelectro delay
Laney VC30-112 with G12H30 speaker, or Session Rockette 30 for smaller gigs
Elixir Nanoweb 11-49 strings, Dunlop Jazz III XL picks
Shure SM57 mic in front of the amp
