Hey everyone, just first off wanted to say thanks for all the replies from this thread: Band Gig Questions . We really appreciate all the guidance from this supportive and experienced community. [At the bottom of this thread is a quick recap of our band's status]

UG feedback suggested we diversify our setlist. We have a lot of college-rock/contemporary-cover bar songs, but not much catering to classic rock/older genres.
What are some of the mainstays for cover-bands?
What are some good songs/genre to incorporate to our setlist to help us evolve from our college-demographic songs?

Here's our Current Set-List
Sweetness (JEW - There for Tomorrow Rendition)
Flavor of the Weak (American Hi Fi)
The View (Modest Mouse)
Tighten Up (Black Keys)
**** You (Cee-Lo - Skyway Traffic Rendition)
Dynamite (Taio Cruz - McFly Rendition)
Use Somebody (Kings of Leon)
Seventy Times 7 (Brand New)
Cute Without the E (Taking Back Sunday)
The Mixed Tape (Jack's Mannequin)
<Foo Fighters Something>

Here's some songs we were thinking of adding to diversify
LZ - Black Dog
Queen - Under Pressure
Goo Goo Dolls - Slide
Matchbox 20 - 3AM
Billy Joel - Only the Good Die Young
Beatles - I Saw Her Standing There

Recap:
We had been slaving our making a demo with plans to start promoting ourselves for gigs. Problem was that we only had about an hour of material. We thought this was enough, but the replies in the thread suggested we first work on getting more songs & diversifying our setlist.

80s rock. Like Bon Jovi, Journey, Kansas. You want the audience to participate so you need to picks some song they know. Everyone knows some 80s songs.
What?! There's a clean channel on my amp?!

^ Kings of Leon, Taking Back Sunday, Foo Fighters? Never heard of 'em? Wha?

I LOVE that American Hi-Fi album. It's easily one of the best albums of the entire '90's.

Aside from that...
