I made a thread the other day about Video Game Movies... and most of my favourite movies are, well, Video Game Movies lol . I am actually doing this too! the other day I went out and got Resident Evil: Degeneration and Doom (some of my favourite movies) from a second hand shop I know of .

Anyway, here are some of my favourite movies (I want to get all of these on DVD soon, besides the top two, which I already have):

Doom
Resident Evil: Degeneration
Resident Evil Collection (movies 1-4... comes in a pack for about £25)
Tomb Raider movies (both)
Saving Private Ryan
Band of Brothers (TV series but whatever)
The Pacific
The Punisher (all 3 of them)

This may be edited later
This will start a RIOT! in me

Just from sheer awesomeness.

good responses so far. There's so many good movies its hard to remember them all haha

Does anybody know the answer to my one question? If a video file is considered a high-resolution video does that mean its blue ray quality and will only play on a blue-ray player?

Most blu-rays are expected to play in 1080p HD.

You could fit a short 1080p video on a standard DVD rather than a blu-ray DVD and have it play on most standard DVD players. The difference between blu-ray DVDs and standard DVDs is that blurays can hold a lot more content so nothing has to be compressed or squeezed in onto the disc as with a standard DVD. That way blurays retain the full quality of longer 1080p videos whereas standard DVDs are forced to compromise with a lesser quality to fit everything on the same disc.

I am pretty sure you are cryptically (read: blatantly) trying to talk about torrent files. The answer is that there are no standards or regulations as to what the author can put in the title. Because of this, different files stating that they are "high-res" will have different picture quality.

Favorite movies I do own (not counting ones I seen in theaters / TV and oo cheap to buy )

Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Se7en
The Prestige
District 9
Terminator 2
Pan's Labyrinth
Casino
Goodfellas
Kiss of the Dragon (Jet Li's movies in English are much better when not done by Hollywood, leave it to other countries to do it right)
Unleashed( ^ )
Jet Li's Fearless
Training Day
Dumb and Dumber
500 Days of Summer (favorite romance movie if you can call it that)

Gungrave (not a movie, but it's only 26 episodes and when watched from start to end it's just too good of a story, if you have 10+ hrs to burn off)

I have a fairly sporadic taste in movies, being that it changes with my mood. However there are certain titles that I feel I would always enjoy for the masterpieces they are.

Gladiator
The Shawshank Redemption
Snatch
Dog Soldiers (massively underrated I feel. It's better than just a silly slasher)
Inception
Robin Hood (Disney version)
Blue Streak
