cory,
The song itself is good and the video (visual) quality is also good. The guitar playing & drums are once again good, not sure if you have electric bass in there, I can't say I hear any distinct bass. Not wild about the lead guitar at 3:30, but it's OK. Feels like it could use some vocals, but it's a good song instrumentally overall. Please review my music at this link:

Really dig the main riff, like the other guys said. I would almost harmonize some of the ascending parts around 0:50. I dig the overall vibe of the piece personally, you build the song up nicely and add cool melodies. On the downside, it is a little repetitive.

In terms of your tone, try picking a little harder better gain response on your rhythms. The mix is a little gain heavy. Once again, your leads sound fine, the rhythm guitars just sound like they need more balls to them.

Honestly, i would have the song fade out when you do the last chorus, bring closure is cool and all.. but idk, the fading running riff is just cool imo, so take that with a grain of salt

Keep working on it bro!

The best thing is to add bass guitar. You could also turn the drums up a lot, they sound waaay back.

That said, cool song. I enjoyed it!

ok first things first, this piece def needs some nice bass under it. also im not the biggest fan of the guitar tone you got.

anyways to the actual music. you got some nice melodies in there. also not a fan of how that lead just jumps in there though it sounds good. however i think it might sound better without that effect youre using but thats just me.

the melody that comes at 2:56 is pretty nice but again the tone isnt really that great.

the sliding thing part i felt repeated too much (only once but yeah i know) and seemed kind of random.

overall i think it needed vocals but i dont know if the song would actually fit with vocals. it seems to strike me as an instrumental piece but its too boring and repetitive for an instrumental piece.

it has some good stuff going for it but id say it needs some work.

crit mine?

Solid playing. I liked the raw feel to the guitar tone. Great melodies. I agree that it could be used as an instrumental, but only if you put some soloing in there to take the repetitive feel out. Would sound great with a vocalist too. Awesome job!

i enjoyed this! i always like when people use ninths to make the chords sound "bigger." it does feel a little repetitive - maybe change a little bit of the guitar part every time you repeat the main riff (a few extra hammer ons or bends for spice), or throw in some more drum/cymbal fills to switch it up. it can be hard to make an instrumental song attention-grabbing but this would work really well with a minimum of tweaking.

Sry for the late response, but i think a bit of a mid boost and some lows would help. The harder picking / lower gain combination can help a ton too.

Mess around with it and see if you can get a nice tight sound picking decently hard whilst lowering ur gain. Don't let it sound weak though, its all about the sweet spot. Gain is accumulative, so the more you have the more fuzz will be flying around. If you tighten down on that, your mix will sound cleaner.

Also; what helps me are thicker gauge strings. I switched from 9-42 to 10-52 a long time ago and haven't looked back since, but thats very much a personal thing (i play in drop D btw)

So yeh, thats just some of my guitar tone tips ;P
